Vespucci - Android OpenStreetMap editor version 0.8 released!!!

New version 0.8 of the vespucci OSM editor released in Android market.

* New Honeycomb style Action Bar user interface, even on pre-HC devices.
* New EasyEdit editing mode that unifies all previous editing modes (which are still available for now) into one mode.
* Support Undo/Redo.
* Show way direction.
* Support way reversal and deletion.
* Add JOSM preset support in tag editor, customisations can be added.
* When tracking position, the direction you're pointing/travelling is shown.
* Export GPS tracks as GPX files.
* Transfer/Other Location shows coordinates of last location.
* Allow installing to SD card.
* Allow nothing as a background, drop Osmarender.
* Allow downloaded data to be saved as a JOSM-compatible OSC file.
* Add support for Croatian, Danish, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish, and Russian languages in addition to the existing Czech, English, French, German, Hungarian, and Italian languages.
* Add crash error reporting using ACRA.
* Support alternate OpenStreetMap API servers.
* Many other bug fixes and improvements.

Update: We had(have?) some issues with Android Market handing out the old 0.7 version instead of the new 0.8 and 0.8.1 .

Paid reviews

I advise to ignore androidmag.de and other such publications of the cda-verlag like ANDROID MAGAZIN and ANDROID APPS.
They just cold called me and offered to make Vespucci (the OpenStreetMap editor) an app of the week for  490,- euro plus taxes including a video review.
I have to assume all their existing reviews and apps of the week are paid for as well.

(EN) Vespucci finaly moved

After nearly 1 year Google support finaly managed to work a ticket we submitted mid 2010.
Back then I took over as the new maintainer of Vespucci.
The OpenStreetMap editor for Android.
It took Google a year and now finaly Vespucci is in my (Google) Android Market account and I can release versions.

A quick group call on the mailing list showed a concensus, that it is stable enough, that I can release a new version.
Hopefully this weekend.

Seid ich Vespucci als Maintainer übernommen habe und
die Autocompletion drin ist, ist dieser Editor einfach geil!!!

In letzter Zeit konnte ich praktisch alle Hausnummern dieser Gegend:

erfassen und es war angenehmer als vorher mit OSMTracker.
Vor allem sind die Änderungen gleich hochgeladen und man muss sich nicht
mehr überwinden zu Hause nochmal alles einzutippen.
(Gott alleine weis wie viele Osmtracker-Logs ich noch unbearbeitet rumliegen habe.)

(DE) addr:street autocompletion in Vespucci

Dem Vespucci Editor für die OpenStreetMap
habe ich heute mal eine neue bessere Autocompletion beigebracht.
Wenn man für ein Haus eine Adresse eingeben will, schlägt er für die Straße umliegende Straßen vor.
Ist noch keine eingegeben, wird die nächstgelegene gleich mal eingetragen.
Die Liste Auto-Vervollständigt die Eingabe und ist nach Entfernung sortiert.
...kein Vertippen mehr bei Straßen und schnellere Eingabe von Hausnummern an Kreuzungen.
